Artists Bio

Amanda Rheeders was born on the east coast of South Africa and immigrated to Luxembourg in 2019.

Amanda has always been captivated by the miracle of nature. Her artistic journey began with oil painting in her early teens, influenced by the impressionists and the floral works of Vladimir Tretchikoff. Amanda’s talent was recognized at a young age by her educators and she was encouraged to pursue a career in Art. Later in life, after 15 years in the legal field, Amanda re-discovered her aptitude for art through in person art classes and online Masterclasses. Amanda thereafter enrolled in the Milan Art Institute in 2024 in order to further develop her skills.

Amanda is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of nature, memory and imagination. Her paintings evoke a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural world. Drawing from her background in classical oil painting and her training at Milan Art Institute, Amanda blends traditional techniques with digital innovation to create immersive and emotionally resonate pieces. Amanda loves to create whimsical compositions which are inspired by her surroundings and which celebrate florals, birds and the magic of the natural world.

Amanda’s studio has an abundant supply of natural light which allows for prolific production of numerous works. Amanda lives with her husband and her two Siberian Forest Cats called Howard Ox Benedict and Abigail Lilibet. Abigail is the chief oversight operator and supervisor of all studio habits and she spends most of her days in the Studio with Amanda, overlooking the vineyards along the Moselle River.

Amanda hopes to continue to study more animals with a view of eventually expanding her portfolio to cover pet portraiture.

Meet the Artist

Hello, I'm Amanda Rheeders—a South African-born artist living and working in Luxembourg. I am lucky enough to live near the Moselle River, and I’m surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty that inspires a lot of the art that I create. My work is a celebration of nature’s resilience, elegance, and quiet magic. Through florals, wildlife, and ethereal elements, I aim to capture the wonder that the natural world brings into our lives. If I achieve anything through my art, I would like to invoke a sense of joy for the viewer. Every piece immortalizes the beauty that surrounds us and creates an
opportunity to bring nature into the home or any environment.
